Spring has Sprung, Now What?

Sorry it has been so long since our last blog. There is really no good excuse for not saying howdy to our friends on a regular basis, but the good news is that the economy has picked up a bit and hopefully that means something positive to you. A special thanks is extended to our existing/past customers for renewing their faith in the Tiger and calling us when they need a helping hand. Hopefully you have seen, or will see, the same renewal of activity in your world.

Like a lot of our clients and friends spring has brought a renewed belief that there are nice days to be had here in Central Ohio, some even contain sunshine.

Clients are not only doing their spring cleaning, but are dipping into the electronic jungle to take advantage of some of the new technology that has come our way.

Our experiences have taken us into conversations regarding LED TV's, 3-D TV's, Outdoor TV's, Outdoor speakers. Having said that, we did experience a brief slowdown in the availability of some of the more popular TV's for use indoors. As an example, large size 3-D TV's, 60" and above, in the more popular brands, are not available until late summer or early fall. Also, there is simply very little content to be viewed on a 3-D TV at the present time. Some folks are reluctant to wear the necessary 3-D glasses that are important in 3-D viewing, to say nothing of the cost of the glasses themselves. If you are counting, that is 3 bummers for those of you who are ready to take the leap.

Our friends in the remodeling business have begun to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Over the past year and a half the jobs for them have been fewer and smaller. It is still slow by boom standards, but activity has increased. Good Luck to all of our remodeling friends in 2010.

So what's hot for 2010?? Obviously, 3-D TV, home security simply because of what is happening in our society, I Phone's and now the I Pad are tools that can now be used in a home automation or a business automation project to control all aspects of the automation process, and how you interface with your system. Controlling your A/V equipment with one remote is still very big, but adding lighting control inside and out have become very popular. Access to your security system, lighting, as well as your heating/cooling via your laptop, while on vacation for example, has become more attractive and affordable. Individuals simply want control whether at home or away.

Alert!!! It has been recently brought to our attention that more communities are requiring safety devices such as alarms on doors leading to pool areas in the interest of protecting our little folks from accidentally falling into the water. If you have a pool and are remodeling, or will be putting in a pool, check with with local code requirements to see if you need an alarm system for all doors leading to your pool. BE SAFE!

Great deals are still to be had in the electronic jungle. For guidence, direction or a shopping list to help with your search, give us a call at 614-975-0939, respond via a comment on this blog, or send an email to j.williams@tsicolumbus.com.
